Chilli Flakes: Friday’s Electrifying Energy
Kicking off our weekend on Friday night, we have the talented Chilli Flakes! Born and raised in San Sebastián, Spain, Chilli Flakes has a rich musical heritage, with globe-trotting parents who instilled in her a love for diverse sounds from a young age. Her musical journey took a significant turn when she visited East Africa, where her mother grew up. While working in the vibrant nightlife scene in Kenya, Chilli Flakes immersed herself in the infectious rhythms of Afrobeats and Amapiano, genres that have greatly influenced her style.
Chilli Flakes’ passion for DJing blossomed in the Edinburgh club scene, where she found a space to express her unique vision. Inspired by the likes of Amapiano DJ Uncle Waffles, she is on a mission to shape the narrative in her own way, promoting female representation in the DJ world. With a flair for creating unforgettable atmospheres, Chilli Flakes is set to deliver a night of music that celebrates her multicultural background and energetic style.
Skankerz: The Saturday Night Sensation
On Saturday night, get ready to groove with Skankerz, an open-format DJ originally from Zimbabwe. With four years of DJing experience, Skankerz is known for his dynamic mixes that span Afrobeats, Amapiano, Hip-Hop, and RnB. His sets are renowned for their high energy and seamless transitions, keeping audiences dancing all night long.
Skankerz has recently been exploring Afro House, adding another layer to his already diverse sound. His passion for music and ability to adapt to different styles have made him a favourite among fans and a standout artist in the DJ scene. As he continues to evolve and push boundaries, Skankerz brings a fresh and exciting perspective to every performance, making him the perfect choice for our Saturday’s Fringe show.
