Are you a talented videographer with a passion for storytelling through video? Do you thrive in creative environments and have a strong technical background? Be United is looking for an experienced Freelance Videographer to join our dynamic Creative Development team!

In this freelance role, you’ll play an essential part in producing captivating video content that showcases Be United’s events, promotional activities, and post-event highlights. You’ll work closely with our Creative Director to bring our vision to life, creating engaging visuals that effectively communicate our organisation’s mission and message.

The Role

As a Freelance Videographer at Be United, you’ll be responsible for capturing and and producing engaging video content, including promotional videos for social media and post-event highlight reels that reflect Be United’s creative vision, direction, and standards.

You will play an important role in the success of our current marketing strategy by leveraging video content as a powerful tool for communicating the organisation’s message across online and social media platforms.

You’ll report directly to the Creative Director and collaborate with team members throughout the production process. This position is open to Scotland-based applicants only.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Film and edit Be United’s events, transforming footage into promotional videos for social media and 30-second post-event highlight reels.
  • Use various media including graphics, animations, data visualisation, music and voice-overs to create professional-grade content.
  • Monitor all technical aspects of filming, recording and editing.
  • Work effectively with Be United team members and stakeholders throughout pre-production to post-production process.
  • Multi-task while demonstrating attention to detail.
  • Meet deadlines and be open to flexible working hours.
  • Stay informed and adapt to the evolving trends, formats, and best practices of social media platforms to ensure video content remains relevant and engaging.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • At least 3 years of professional videography and editing experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Creative decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of professional audio/video and staging techniques, facilities, and equipment. 
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and trends, particularly video content optimisation for Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop) and DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent software for grading and post-production.
  • Strong creative thinking and excellent time management skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with motion graphics and animations.
  • Familiarity with live event production, including staging, lighting, and sound.
  • Experience with storytelling for non-profit or community-based organisations.
