My name is Boysie Gumede BE United International Artistic Director and Storyteller.

Year 2017 was an outstanding year for me on my second Scottish visit. Last year my trip was funded with the support of Ten City Tavern from Newlands West. Enabeling me to be part of  BE United’s Fringe show ‘Discovery’ 2016.

This year i was invited to be part of the International Monument Delegates Programme representing South Africa as a Storyteller during the month of August. The program is run collaboratively by The British Council, Creative Scotland and Festivals Edinburgh.

The program was tremendous, to share skills and learn how to create festivals and to make them accessible for people of that place to participate. I met successful businessman, Producers, actors and directors from all over the world. It was great to network and im looking forward to working with different cultures and people in the future.

The month of September was hectic for BE United as we were promoting our new theatre production “Champions Tale” a show that bring aims to inspire understanding and trust between different cultures through beautiful and profound stories. Bringing a little piece of South African magic straight to the heart of United Kingdom.

October our UK TOUR arrived and we were ready for it. The production SOLD OUT shows all over UK. We Hope next year we will be able to secure some funding.

Special Thanks to Picken’s Family for taking good care of seven young South Africans in their home. Bless them with Success and Peaceful family. To everyone I’ve worked with while I was in Scotland. THANKS to my GREAT team BE United.
