Jennifer Baba began dancing in 1996 with Scotland first African dance and music group, Afridonia. Her passion for dance and music has grown and has led her to develop her interest and knowledge in West African dance. Jennifer has had the opportunity to study dance in Senegal and is excited to share her session of powerful and energetic djembe dance with us. She currently performs with West African inspired group Sankofa Beats, and has taught various classes throughout Edinburgh. In the session, we will be working on a choreography called Soko, which is traditionally a piece played as a rite of passage. The session will focus on rhythm and timing, set to live djembe drumming.

Please bring some water, be prepared to dance barefoot and have some fun!
